Don't judge it by the cover

While I was happy to get the latest guide my only gripe about the 2015 edition is the cover photo featuring a scene of California Adventures. It is extremely out of date and looks like it belongs to a pre-2009 edition. I'm shocked this was allowed to go to print. Since this shouldn't reflect the information within the pages I still give it five stars. Now for the review of the book and the series...These guides have always been extremely helpful for us. Time and again, following the day plans, we've had stress free trips that actually leave us with plenty of time to do whatever we want afterwards. From the time you arrive at the esplanade to eating, planing hotels, shopping, and taking a break from your day the guide is a great primer for those new to the park and regulars. Updated yearly the guide accounts for changes in park attendance behaviors and attraction additions and subtractions. Sehlinger's team also provides a guide on peak attendance days at the... 5/5 M. 0 5/5 Kenneth Kamiel "Batken" (FLUSHING, NY United States of America) - See all my reviews This review is from: The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland 2015 (Paperback) If you love waiting in long theme park lines, paying too much on lodging, paying too much for souvenirs and food, and gerring lost on the Los Abgeles roadways, then this book is not for you. Unofficial means honest approach without being forced to sugar coat anything in order to get the guide Disney approved. A detailed section on Unoversal Hollywood as well. This is the guide that you want. Why just like, or tolerate Disneyland? These guys will show you how to get the most out of the parks and you will leave realizing that was one of the best experiences you have ever had. Best tip for any theme park, get there early, like an hour before opening, and ride your most anticipated attractions before the crowds build up. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , October 23, 2014

Great graphics and amazing attention to detail, although game play can be a little repetitive

In many ways, Kinect Disneyland reminds me of the game Epic Mickey that came out for the Wii last year. It's a fantastic concept and the attention to detail will absolutely delight die-hard Disney fans, but gameplay itself can be a little shaky at times. But overall, it's a winner, especially if you have younger kids in the house who are always begging you to go to Disneyland or Disney World. The concept and the graphics of this game are amazing. You start the game out at the Train Station and the scene swoops onto Main Street USA, which should be familiar to anyone who's been to the parks. You define your character by choosing a boy or a girl, and give him or her a face (you basically can choose one by race), and then a hair style, hair color, shirt, and pants. There's only limited customization you can do (I'm guessing you can't use the Xbox avatar because it's just too cartoony for this world). You meet a "magic ticket" that tells you how to move around. You... 4/5 Nutwiisystem.Com (New York, NY USA) - See all my reviews = Fun:, November 15, 2011

Great game for 10 year old typical child amazing for autistic son first video game he ever played in 13 years of life!!!

Ditto on the positivies thus far, as far as the most helpful negative review have you tried saying XBOX fast travel. Then a menu with things you can say comes up. You can get very far, very fast with this.My ten year old typical was definitely a huge boon to sortig out this game, but my autisitic son loves the peter pan flying game. We own a wii, and an xbox,I've bought so many games from walle to toy story on wii, to sesame for kinect(I still have hope, he's been under the weather since we got that one). But this disney game always brings a smile to his face.Fast travel is very nice, even my daughter still uses it sometimes but she has also figured out you can just point straight ahead. She loves to play this game for her "older" brother. A lot of her friends come over and they sometimes don't know how to play with her brother, but they totally get into it with this. The girls do seem bothered when there avatar's change somewhat randomly, but they quickly... 4/5 L. Bring Some Magic from Disneyland Home.

Wow! I've only played a couple hours, but wanted to share some impressions.I've been to Disneyland a handful of times and the park is faithfully recreated in the game. Playing it brought back memories from my actual visits.Presentation: The graphics are very nice and colourful as you'd expect, its amazing how much detail they put into the park and all the tourists, you hear bits of conversation while walking from tourists. The Disney Characters are wonderful as are their voices. The Music is perfect and properly placed, such as the teacup song in the wonderland area of Fantasy Land. I did notice very minor pop up and a couple snags when rotating quickly or riding the dumbo type rotating rides, but its nearly perfect. The Gameplay: There is so much to do, I was happily suprised with the variety. Certain Characters will give you items(a wand, Buzz Lightyear Gun so far) to interact with in Disneyland while traveling to your next ride/adventure, or... 5/5 B. This review is from: The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland 2014 (Kindle Edition) I had the 2008 version but was going to go again this December. Honestly, it is not much different than the 2008 version. I mainly bought it for the updated pricing and cars land section. Also it is just fun to read and builds the excitement for my trip. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , October 23, 2013

0 5/5 purplemom - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland 2014 (Kindle Edition) Planning a trip to CA this summer. Taking my 9 and 5 year old to Disney. Book helped me chose going two days to Disneyland instead of one day and Disneyland and one day at California Adventures. Also had great tips on when to go on certain rides etc. Highly recommended! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , January 30, 2014

    A good start but...

My mom had this book twenty years ago when we went to Disneyland as kids. I remember reading it over and over again for the ride descriptions. This edition has a wealth of information but the best information seems to be on their website. I found the book to be meandering and disjointed. For example, they spend *pages* telling you what they are going to tell you later in the book. The most frustrating part I found was that throughout the book it preaches going back to the hotel for an afternoon nap. But the touring plans don't account for that. They say to "finish the structured part by 3" or "go hard until lunch" which is not only conflicting but vague and not worked into the plans.Overall it's fun to read and get excited for your trip. The tips about what to bring and how to dress and how to prep your family beforehand are outstanding. I say check this book out from the library for that info, and use their website and app for the actual touring... 3/5 K. Wilson - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Great, except pieces are too big for the board

My 2 year old daughter received this as a gift. She was very excited about the little figurines. The board is much smaller than the regular candy land board. In my opinion, this is great, because she doesn't have a very long attention span yet. Everything is sturdy and well built. My daughter likes to just play with Minnie, Daisy and Figaro on their own as well. Instead of colored cards to draw, there is a spinner. Much less mess, yay! I've never seen a spinner designed like this one. It is still cardboard or whatever they're usually made of, but the spinner is attached differently, making it harder to pull apart. In our house, that's a very good thing. Little fingers would have a hard time disassembling it.My one gripe about the game is that the base of the characters takes up 2-3 spaces. It doesn't make sense. You cannot really tell what space you are on. It have a hard time remembering what space I'm on. How's a toddler supposed to remember? It is a very poor design... 4/5 M. Buyer beware of design flaws

My 3 year old received this as a gift from her aunt, and I was initially very excited! It's the perfect game for practicing colors, learning to take turns, following an order, and it's the first game I remember playing as a little girl. Adorable characters, a small box, a spinner rather than cards, so no mess. But...The board is SO brightly colored with SO much printed on it that it's hard to follow where the path goes and what you're supposed to do to get where (for example, the rainbow bridge gets lost in all the stuff going on around it).The characters are super cute, but as other reviewers have mentioned, the base on them takes up 2-3 spaces, so you don't know what color you're on, nor where the next red (or any other color) square might be as you might already be on it.The spinner includes not only colored squares, but also the special squares like the candy cane, the chocolate bar, and the other special spaces that zip you to the finish or... 1/5 S. Fun game for my 3 yr old

0 4/5 Bridget Cleveland (Denver, CO) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Candy Land Game Disney Minnie Mouse's Sweet Treats Edition (Toy) I like that this game has a spinner instead of cards. Yes, the probability of hitting one of the special spots goes up, but that's okay with me. More importantly, the spinner is fun to spin, and doesn't create a mess of bent and lost cards. The character markers are cute, BUT the bases are far too wide to fit on the spaces. It's hard to tell what space you are on. I found other little markers to use instead (Playmobile people for example.) 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , January 15, 2015
