    A Disney must!

0 5/5 Katherine Kristan - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Birnbaum's 2015 Walt Disney World: The Official Guide (Birnbaum Guides) (Paperback) I am a total WDW addict and go every year. And yet no matter how many times I have been there, I can't do everything. That is why I buy a Birnbaum's every year. I actually read it cover to cover (yes I am a big geek) and always manage to learn something new, or find something new I want to try. It's not just about learning what is new this year, you get to learn all the little details you may have missed on previousl trips. There are events that I only learned about a year or two ago, and they have them several times a week. The Wishes dessert party was a great addition to one of my trips. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , October 27, 2014

This review is from: Birnbaum's 2015 Walt Disney World: The Official Guide (Birnbaum Guides) (Paperback) This is the best guide book ever. I'm sure I'm just partial because I enjoy Disney World so much but, this guide book makes everything so much easier. From approximate weather, crowd size, new exhibits/attractions...knowing which hotels are the most affordable and where they are located in location to your favorite Park(Epcot, Magic Kingdom, Downtown Disney). Best places to eat, where to find the best coffee, where to locate the characters for the kids to see....it just goes on and on. Always worth getting(I even get one if I'm not going) 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , January 12, 2015

0 5/5 ej - See all my reviews This review is from: The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 2015 (Paperback) Simply indispensable. Possibly the best investment I ever made was buying this book. It has allowed me to visit Walt Disney World six times without having to wait in line for anything, even during the busiest seasons. One spends thousands of dollars on a vacation, yet this book is what allowed me to truly enjoy it all without waiting in line. There is so much useful information in this book about a myriad of all-things Disney. And it's an entertaining read, so I even enjoyed sections that didn't pertain to what I was interested in (Disney cruises, for instance). It's even got info on Universal & other Florida theme parks. I'd give it 10 stars if I could. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , August 5, 2014

    A little disappointed

This is a nice book, but didn't meet my expectations or hopes. Should have looked at an older copy before preordering this one. We are planning our first trip to WDW with our 3 and 4 year old (not the target age, I know) and I was hoping for more photos from the park to prepare them for the things they'll actually see. Using the internet will be more helpful in this case. This book is filled with lots of colorful clip art of disney characters and a few very dated photos (not super helpful IMO). Most of he photos were taken during a staged photo shoot and don't show the characters in a way that my kids will actually see them there. Plus, it's already out of date, with going to press before WDW announced a decent amount of changes recently. That's not the authors fault, but still frustrating as the buyer. My kids are still enjoying it a little, because we are all so excited about going soon- who wouldn't be??Also,I ordered the adult one for me, and it has more photos in it... 4/5 SKJ - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) 0 5/5 jnavarome - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Kids Travel Journal: My Travel Diary to Disney World (Paperback) My wife and I took our 2 Oldest Grandkids to Disney World for 5 nights. I ordered only one of these Travel Journals. I just assumed that the 9 year old would use it but the 6-1/2 year old wouldn't be interested in writing anything down. Big mistake. Well let me tell you I had to "encourage" them to share it. They each wanted to jot down their adventures and do their own drawings and they especially wanted to get their own Autographs. What made it even better was that at the end of the day they would pull out their journal, update their notes for the day and share the drawings and autographs they each had gotten. Great buy, but I'll know better and get them each their own next time. Highly recommend. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , October 10, 2014

Kids Loved this Disneyworld Travel Journal

Great travel book for the kids. There's lots of things for the kids to track and write about, everything from the days events (My Day So Far) to food rating of new foods (Yummy or Yucky). There are also a few games in the back if you're caught traveling from one place to another. I also like the way the travel diary is organized with things like Family itinerary and a Packing checklist for the kids. Plus there are pages for getting autographs from Disney characters if you're kids are into that. My kids weren't but my daughter got a few autographs I think just because of the book. Here's a quick overview of some of the things included:-My Passport Page-My Packing List-Our Vacation Intinerary-Must See checklist (Disney rides to visit)-Autograph Checklist (Disney character checklist)-My Trip So Far-Doodle of the Day-Yummy or Yucky-My Five SensesThere's more but those are the pages my kids really got into. Best book out there

Let me start by saying that I have gone to Walt Disney World when it was just the Magic Kingdom in the 70’s. I have gone with my children when they were little and most recently with my 12 yr old daughter. I have never had a bad Disney trip. I always read books and did research. That being said I also know that I missed a good percentage of what was there, wandered around in circles and wasted time/money.I found one of the author’s sites 2 years ago when I was planning the trip with my daughter. The site and knowledge that Josh shared was what made that trip so amazing. When I learned that he was writing a book I couldn’t wait to get it.The key statement that sets this book apart from all of the other books out there is in the introduction, “sit back, relax and enjoy the planning”. Great Choice for the First Timer

The Easy Guide to your First Walt Disney World Visit, written by Dave Shute and Josh Humphrey, is a great resource for guests who are looking for vacation planning guidance. What most people don’t know is that planning a Walt Disney World vacation, especially for the first timer, is a daunting task. Sure, it looks like fun on the commercials….and it will be once you get there….but before that can happen, you have many, many hours of planning ahead of you. I am a travel agent who plans Disney vacations and I can tell you, as a professional, that planning a space shuttle trip to the moon is only slightly more complicated than planning a Disney vacation (but the moon doesn’t have a Dumbo ride so it is not as much fun). The hard truth is, a book that encompasses every possible thing to do, see and consider at Disney World would be thousands of pages and who has time for that? 0 4/5 Jen (Orem, UT) - See all my reviews This review is from: Ultimate Walt Disney World (Amazon Instant Video) I can't believe there isn't a review for this DVD! What a fun movie! It is a wonderful look behind the scenes at some of the top thrill rides at The Walt Disney World Resort. Having never been to Disney World, I loved being able to see this preview of what a visit to the Magic Kingdom can hold. The best part of the movie is learning the story behind the rides- why they exist, and what is happening as you ride along through them. I loved it so much I have already shown it to my family. It made me immediately want to start packing my bags for a trip to the Magic Kingdom! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , September 30, 2012

    Ultimate Thrill Ride WDW

0 5/5 Vanessa Maine (Boston, MA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Ultimate Walt Disney World (Amazon Instant Video) Great overview of WDW's biggest thrill rides! We are planning a visit and this was a good litmus test of which attractions my 8-year old may like to see. Splash Mountain - Definitely! Expedition Everest - "perhaps if she closes her eyes so that she won't see the Yeti" (that's a No! for her and me, but Definitely! for my husband). My only comment is that this video focuses on the extreme thrill rides and not much else, so the name of the show is misleading. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , November 22, 2013

This review is from: The Dark Side of Disney (Kindle Edition) In spite of the cheesy cover, I thought this would be an insight to parts of Disney that I wouldn't normally be able to find on my own. Not that I would try to score illegal substances at the park, but why include that chapter if all you are going to say is that you can't really score in the park. Some of the recommendations are just pointless. Save money on food at the park by ordering pizza at the hotel? Most of the best tips are public knowledge and the rest are practically useless.Save your money! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , December 9, 2012

    Interesting, but crude

I kind of expected that this book would be more of a 'tell-all' from former Disney employees. It isn't... it's a travel guidebook to the 'dark side' of Disney's parks in Orlando. And by 'dark side', the author means many things, from perfectly licit money-saving tips to the totally illicit and illegal (which he does warn may garner you jail time either for real, or in "Disney jail", which he doesn't elaborate on). Did you ever want to know where to buy drugs in Orlando? Or know which shows at Disney were best seen while high? Or the best places to have sex in the parks? Or how to gate-crash the parks? You get the idea... This is not a family-friendly book!I did find it very interesting - there are plenty of semi-licit things listed that really piqued my interest, though I'd never actually attempt them. I did find the author's language to be pretty crude - the profanities took what was actually a very well-written (and well-researched, though that's a whole 'nother... 3/5 SEPpietoeing Through the Tulips - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) I Want To Do Disney With This Guy...

I really liked this book! My husband is an obsessed Disney World fan, so that's pretty much the only place we vacation (he bought an RV almost solely for use at Disney's Fort Wilderness to eliminate the hassle and cost of dealing with hotels...he's committed). We usually go a couple times a year, depending on where the military has us stationed at the time. If we're within 12 hours of driving (I don't fly...sorry Leonard), then according to him, we're close enough!Having been to the parks so many times I thought I knew it all and was pretty smug about my Disney expertise...turns out, I didn't know jack. I loved the stories of he and his friends roaming the parks, going down to the Utilidors (something I MUST do now...thanks), and all the tips and tricks he's come up with through the years. While many are not tips and tricks I would personally use (what with them being illegal and all), they were still funny to read about. Being military, we get obscene ticket discounts... 4/5 Mercedes J. (Southeastern, CT) - See all my reviews, October 7, 2011
