But we have not devoted space in this book to the “value” resorts (All-Star and Pop Century) because, obviously, these are the most family-oriented (meaning kid -centric) group in Walt Disney World, and that's not what we're about.

    The winner and still Champion............

Bought this book every year since before 2005. I first used it for our family trips to Disney we'd take every couple of years. I now am a DVC member, Annual Pass Holder, D23 member and live 30 minutes from WDW. My point.....any and everyone can use it, the first timer or experienced visitor! The author(s) including Len Testa's amazing stat's and "Touring Plans" help make this book a must have! They use teams of researchers and even psychologists to help maximize their findings and conclusions doing our research and investigating for us. The book is un-biased, independent, and honest. You can use as much or as little information as you choose. The book is broken down into sections, with easy to understand rating systems for all the Parks, Rides, Attractions, on and off site restaurants and lodging, including just about everything for your monthly. annual, or trip of a lifetime to 'The World.' Most Complete Guide to WDW & Universal

The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World is by far the largest guidebook for the area. Weighing in at a whopping 832 pages, you would expect, or at least hope, that it would be the most comprehensive and informative of all the Orlando guides. To help readers decide for themselves, I've broken my review down into sections by subject so you can focus on what matters most to you.Hotels:Disney hotels receive exhaustive coverage with ratings on many factors such as room quality, noise level, pool facilities, value, and more. There is a lengthy write-up discussing each hotel including their strengths and weaknesses. They even provide guidance on specific rooms to ask for and which to avoid when you make your reservation. For those hotels outside of the resort, the coverage is less exhaustive but still comprehensive. A map shows the location of well over 100 area hotels, there are charts grading them on room quality, overall ratings, and cost. Best Guide Book to Disney World

In recent years, this is the ONLY guidebook I ever buy- and always the most current version for every trip. Have been to Walt Disney World 27 times- and if you want to save a lot of time and money this is the book to have. Making my 28th trip in December, and have both the 2016 paperback version and the Kindle version. The paperback version is massive at 832 pages. It is almost 2 inches thick, and the font size is pretty small. The information warrants the size- but if you have a Kindle and only want one version then Kindle is the way to go. You will have a lighter, more manageable version with the ability to use the font size and type that works for you. If you don't have a Kindle, do not be put off by my physical description of the book. Trust me, you will be glad you bought it. I have saved many thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours not standing in lines over the years by using the information in this book- as well as saved friends over a thousand dollars on a trip they... 5/5 Happy2B (Sedona, AZ 86336 USA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Extremely Useful: A-List Advice about doing the Best of Disney.

Unlike other Disney books that review everything an overwhelm you with choices, this one focuses on the very best things and those we may not know about, like having lunch/dinner with an imagineer or the backside tour so you can see what nobody else sees (it includes lunch) or the cost and unique privileges of a VIP tour ($275-$315 per hour with a six hour minimum). Do you want the Disney Dining Plan? You might not need it if you stay at Club Level Concierge rooms and visit their complimentary food area? Or you might want it if you're on a budget and would rather spend money when you have it and not be shocked later on with credit card bills. Are you travelling with 10 people? Then perhaps a Disney Villa makes more sense. Need a ride to the hotel? Careful, Disney's Magical Express makes a lot of stops, you could end up spending up to 90 minutes on a bus. I found myself making a lot of notes, like if you like buffalo and venison steaks, Artist Point at Disney's Wilderness Lodge is the... 5/5 Gregory Smith - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Great book for planning a new trip or a once in a lifetime trip

0 5/5 Brian (Santa Ana, CA, United States) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: The Very Best of Walt Disney World Resort (Kindle Edition) I had only been to Disney World once. I've always been able to spit on Disneyland from where I live, so I and my family have been there many times, and we get to sleep in our own beds afterward. But the venture to Disney World in FL happened only once as a child, car and all. So now that I have kids, and don't ever want to experience that car trip again, and all the sights, smellz and sounds that went with it, I'm taking us first class. That much will atone for the sin of not being willing to put myself through what my father went through. This is the book to get if you're going my way. If it's that once in a lifetime family thing and you're throwing a bankroll at it, this book will make sure your money is well spent on the best Disney has to offer and avoid the things that may not live up to their price tag. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , May 23, 2013

I bought it at a Disney resort for about $81 (which included a 10% discount) and still don't think it was worth that much. If you buy it id say go ahead for the sentimental value (my sons absolutely loved riding the monorail) but man... what a letdown. In general... it barely moves, the doors come off WAY too easily, the small figurines are "cute" but extremely small and it's starting to move even less with about a couple of days worth of use... with new batteries!!Disney... what happened here? 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , January 3, 2016

    At last, Splash Mountain!

From 1984-1997 I was quite possibly the world's biggest WDW fan. I then left for art school and my love for Disney was put on the back burner. I decided to look for WDW sites in late 2001 simply because I was bored, and I came across this CD. My love for WDW was completely rekindled because of this CD.I had spent several years looking for the music of the WDW version of Splash Mountain, but could only find songs to the Disneyland version. I played this CD and was simply amazed to find almost the entire soundtrack intact. It's superb. The sound quality is crystal-clear, is in full stereo and is rich and full. The CD is worth buying for this nearly 8-minute long track alone. Even the opossums that hang upside-down can be heard singing.I was also very pleased to find the entrance music to Alien Encounter. That certainly brings back memories. The only thing negitive I can say about this CD is that I wish it included more tracks from Epcot. Official Album--WDW Resort

This latest version of the WDW Official Album is the best to come along so far. Past compilations have featured shortened versions of " a Pirate's Life", "Grim Grinning Ghosts", and Splash Mountain tracks, but this collection features almost full unedited versions, (ex. the Pirates track has almost all sections of the entire ride represented. Same for the Haunted Mansion. The Splash Mountain track contains all songs in the attraction as well as dialog from the final lift hill section before the drop. The small world track is from the actual attraction, instead of the version with adults singing, as has been found on past collections. The only thing I would add to the next collection would be the soundtrack from Spectromagic or the Main Street Electrical Parade. Other than that oversight, my family and I find this to be the best representation of music from the WDW parks so far. This is a number filled trivia book about Walt Disney World, containing more facts and figures than most casual fans would want to know. But of course- a lot of us aren't very "casual" in our fandom of the Disney Parks, are we? In fact the opposite!Did you know that: Prince William, Prince Harry and Princess Diana rode Splash Mountain three times in one trip? That the Prince Charming Carrousel in the Magic Kingdom was originally built in 1917? (note two "r"s in the spelling here)That the Carousel of Progress "ride' takes almost 21 minutes? (and it's air conditioned! But Ellen's Energy Adventure is 45 minutes!)That they grow 30 tons of produce in Living with the Land each year, and you likely have eaten some of it?Those huge turkey legs? They weigh about 1.5 pounds and come from 50 pound turkeys! One interesting section near the back details WDW's conservation efforts.I often say a book is... 4/5 Wulfstan (San Jose, CA United States) - See all my reviews, October 22, 2015

    Good Idea - Poor Editing

Interesting concept, but overall I found the book lacking and full of errors. And yes, I understand the author disclaimed against some of these errors; however, a bit of editing and fact checking could go a long way. Most of the errors I noticed were spelling and grammar, some were related to the numbers themselves. Again (I really have started to feel repetitive) Theme Park Press just does not spend enough time editing. From simple spelling mistakes (Barack Obama's name is misspelled) to larger tense issues (an attraction that is closed should be referred to as past tense, not present), the book is just chock full of editing issues. Unfortunately, I think Bob McLain and his team try to pump books out too quickly and don't spend enough time in the editing room. Other errors did relate to the numbers, but were slight (WDW employs 74,000 cast members as of our current Eyes and Ears printings for cast) or seemed mistyped (Cinderella castle has 27 towers/turrets, not 3,727). Other facts... 3/5 KayamandaW - See all my reviews This review is from: Disney by the Numbers: Facts and Figures About the Walt Disney World Theme Parks and Resorts (Kindle Edition) Interesting concept, but overall I found the book lacking and full of errors.
