But we have not devoted space in this book to the “value” resorts (All-Star and Pop Century) because, obviously, these are the most family-oriented (meaning kid -centric) group in Walt Disney World, and that's not what we're about.

Watched Blu-Ray version on a 37 inch 1080p Sharp Aquos using a Slim PlayStation 3.Purchased at $18.99.-1 Blu-Ray disc containing Disneyland Resorts: Behind the Scenes (51 min), Undiscovered Disney Parks (44 min), and Ultimate Walt Disney World (44 min) of both locations, and Extras-1 DVD with the same content as the Blu-Ray, and a Digital Copy. The Digital Copy included includes 3 .mp4 files (Disneyland Resorts: Behind the Scenes, Undiscovered Disney Parks, and Ultimate Walt Disney World) that you simply copy off the DVD yourself. There is no code to redeem through iTunes or Windows Media Player, but I did import them into the iTunes library.-Blu-Ray case is inside a cardboard slipcase. This version may not be as extensive as the 6-Disc DVD set which I have never seenPicture and sound quality was just fine for something like this.I'm reviewing this mostly from a content point of view.I have personally been to Disney... 5/5 P. Everything you might want to know about the Disney Parks..

Picked this set up today at one of the local stores. Thought I'd share some comments. The set consists of six DVDs, each in an individual thin case - which are stored in a cardboard sleeve. Most of the videos are "widescreen", but a few are "full screen" 1.33:1 ratio and they all lack close-captioning. These videos document what there is to do at the parks and attractions, with a lot of interviews of park employees and with actual customers. It does start to seem like a hour long commercial for Disney, but I guess that is expected given that it's a detailed look at a theme park and it's attractions.Listing of the discs;1) Walt Disney World Resort: Behind the Scenes. 52 minutes with two extra features; What's New in the Haunted Mansion & Stitch's Great Escape. Not sure just how long each of the extra features are - but they seem to be around 8~12 minutes. This DVD reminded me of the History Channel's documentary... 5/5 K. 0 5/5 The Walking Dead (Texas) - See all my reviews This review is from: Disney Parks: The Secrets, Stories and Magic Behind the Scenes [Blu-ray plus DVD and Digital Copy] (Blu-ray) I plan on picking these up in the near future...Please keep in mind that the 6 pack dvd version contains more then the blu ray. Why? Don't would think all of it would be on blu ray. Just keep in mind that if you buy the blu ray that you get the same movies on dvd + 3 more and all the extras. Since blu ray players will up convert, it might be a better deal to go with the dvd version. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , June 5, 2010

Packed with info for newbie Disneyworld visitors and great info for repeat visitors!

0 5/5 Jatie (Kentucky) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Walt Disney World For First Time Visitors (Kindle Edition) Wow! This is such an incredible resource! Oddly enough, although our kids are grown, we've never ever been to Disneyworld. We talked about it but it just seemed to complicated, specifically as the park got bigger and bigger. Ann has a way of narrowing it down so that it makes sense, specifically to those of us who have never been there. May be about time to plan a trip with our grown kids! Armed with this simple to understand book, I think we could manage to get the most bang for our buck and time. You'll be using your bookmarks constantly to have reminders so you can plan a trip with ease and no stress! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , August 27, 2014

    simple and easy to read

0 4/5 reader in Toronto - See all my reviews This review is from: Walt Disney World For First Time Visitors (Kindle Edition) Well organized, simple and easy to read. I would classify it as more of an "info packet" versus what I typically think of as a book - just for the fact that it is quite short and contains a fair bit of information that is easily accessible elsewhere on the internet. . It's a short read and only 4 or 5 bucks, so with that in mind it would be a good purchase if you are looking to have key info captured in one spot and save yourself the time trolling for info on the internet. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , May 25, 2015

    Great travel guide

0 5/5 garywill81 - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Walt Disney World For First Time Visitors (Kindle Edition) I have only been to Disneyworld once but after reading Ann's guidebook it brought back many happy memories. The book details well how to navigate through WDW and all it has to offer. There are many books about WDW with much more detail but this gives you a great starting point with strategies on how to best utilize your all too brief time at Disneyworld. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , September 15, 2014

A well-rounded family guide that is light in your handbag

Creating a useful guide to America's top tourist destination in the form of a 176 page book no bigger than a stack of 4X6" prints is a task that's probably considerably tougher than pulling together a traditional guide of four or five times the word count.Jennifer Denniston does pretty well, and she's not even a local to the area. The names and attractions have changed some since our middle child, now teen, was a toddler, but it's interesting to note how much hasn't changed in and around the environs of Walt Disney World/Universal Orlando. Color coded sections are quickly thumbable, and interspersed with sometimes extended sidebars under the header "understanding", sharing both the history of the region and tips for making the most of your Central Florida experience.Coverage of accommodation and dining destinations around the park and area attractions are necessarily limited but hit the high points, from Victoria and Albert's to The Brown Derby. (Also... 4/5 Knits in Tardis (KY, USA) - See all my reviews, April 17, 2015

I wonder how many of these you could fit into a pair of Jncos.

One day when things are more settled, I plan on doing a little bit of traveling. I have a couple of good friends in Orlando, and Disney World's always been a place I've wanted to visit. On top of that, I do have a thing for travel guide books, so this was an instant order when I saw it. Lonely Planet offers a true pocket sized guide book to Orlando, not just focusing on Disney World (it's not even half the content!) but essentially EVERYTHING you could ever want to do there.Normally with a good guide book, I'd provide a video review so you can take a look and see if you think it's worth the money or not. This one in particular contains mostly text. Yes, there are a good amount of photos inside, but definitely nowhere near as much as you'd normally get in a travel guide book. This one's all about giving you the information and locations, no fluff. Every store, site and location has just enough info to make them all sound worthwhile. I had no idea that there was a 50s style... 5/5 Armando N. Roman (Hillsboro, OR) - See all my reviews, April 24, 2015

Good little guide but no politics in my guide, thanks

This books is 4.2 inches by 6 inches, so it's not going to fit in most pockets, but it's fine for a purse or backpack. The information is good, there are maps (The chocolate museum says it's on page 82, it's actually on 83) There are a lot of tips on restaurants and where to go both in Disney or just around Orlando.Seaworld, arguably a major Orlando attraction, is relegated to a paragraph, half of which is taken up with the unethical treatment of the sea life. Aquaitica is given even less- it's a short few sentences about it being what you'd expect a water part to be, and then and once again she mentions it's owned by seaworld which is believed to be unethical because of their treatment of Dolphins. While she is very careful to phrase all this in a way that says "some people" and not outright give her opinion, it's pretty clear what her opinion is, with no map being included for SW or much on the attractions there.l. I think most people can make their own decisions... 3/5 Becky and Jim review "Becky (in Nola)" (New Orleans) - See all my reviews, April 28, 2015
