  Good reference

  I bought this book when I was planning a recent trip to Grand Cayman. We ended up staying at Sunset House, and had a wonderful time. This book has a lot of good information about the island and about the diving, and led us to choose Sunset House as our hotel and dive operator. Most of the sites we dived while there were detailed in this book.   Good book, covering many locations with usful specifics of the sites. Well organized for finding spots by general location.   great, concise book

  Disclaimer - I haven't actually been to the Caymans yet; but, I have read the book twice and used it to plan our trip. It's short but it covers the material very well. It's thorough and the information is well organized. You can definitely plan your diving trip to the caymans using this book. I would double check VRBO.com before you settle on a place to stay though.   Great guide for a great vacation!!!

  I had an old book for Grand Cayman but wanted a newer version. This book was just published in 2011 so it was perfect. The book was great and gave a nice overall of the island. It has plenty of maps and reviews and suggestions of where you can visit during your trip. The restaraunt section and beaches section are especially nice. My book is already filled with book markers so I can pull it out and reference it while we are there. I would highly recommend this book for anyone traveling to Grand Cayman.   Great book to read before and during the trip

  This book was great when we went to the Caymans. It provided us with good insight into a lot of places that others didn't know about, expecially one restaurant that had just opened. When we got back, we loaned it to our neighbors, so they could use it on their trip...we will definitely purchase an updated one before our next trip down there.   Best of the series

  Having read all seven of the Dusky MacMorgan series, I think that this is the best of them. Dusky is not quite as "over the top", ala Clive Cussler's Dirk Pitt, as in the earlier stories. While no where near as good as White's Doc Ford series, it's interesting to read his earlier effort. Any Randy Wayne White fan should take the time to read this entire series.   One of the best of Dusky MacMorgan series

  I thought this was one of the best in the MacMorgan series although the Westy O'Davis character began to wear on me before I had even started this one. Having to read thru the Irish dialect takes away from the story. Randy again tells a good story of intrigue and double dealing with an ending I have to admit I saw coming about half way thru.   What a great way to mix adventure and Grand Cayman into an enjoyable book. Much of the story helps the reader "unpeel" the relationship between Dusky and his Irish "chum" before they get into the actual rescue. Toward the end of the book, the violence explodes but suddenly relaxes as the kidnapped Thomas is discovered. 4/5 John B.   I've used Franko's maps for dive trips in the US Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands, Cozumel, Bonaire & Maui, and have ordered them for an upcoming Cayman trip. They are the best, both for dive sites and general navigation / sightseeing. They have a wealth of useful information around the margins, "in the sea."But if Amazon is not selling them with free shipping on your Prime, you do NOT have to pay someone $4 for a dollar's worth of postage - what a ripoff! You can go right to the source of Franko's maps and they will charge about $2 shipping, even for several maps.
