This review is from: EXTRAVAGANZA Las Vegas (Amazon Instant Video) This video includes a nice sampling of the Las Vegas Strip, to include the Luxor, Excalibur, New York - New York, MGM Grand, Caesars Palace, Bellagio, Paris, The Venetian, Treasure Island, Stratosphere, and The Mirage. It ends with footage from a helicopter ride to recap. Don't expect a comprehensive guide to Vegas... there's no coverage of Downtown Las Vegas. There's so much to do in Vegas! This review is from: Vista Point LAS VEGAS (Amazon Instant Video) This video was filmed in 2007 for a British TV show, though the video quality and production make it seem as though it could have been filmed in the early nineties. However, as someone who is planning their first trip to vegas this was an interesting introduction to many of the larger hotels. It generally shows the exterior, lobby and gambling areas of the hotel - but not the rooms. The narrator tells a few basic facts about each hotel, as well. Overall, I'm glad I watched it. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , February 10, 2013

Great Comedy, great characters & great script!

Emmett Loverde's film is quite a delightful and refreshing comedy that really takes the viewer back to a long forgotten era of classic humor based more on wit, story development and a talented cast. These days comedies are so dependent on shock value, grotesque sex jokes and just plain stupid screenwriting that a film like Baraboo really stands out as a testament of what great writing "used" to entail. Sure there's the occasional sex joke in this film (it's a romantic comedy after all) but they're done in a tasteful and intelligent way. Yes, Baraboo is a thinking man's comedy that requires multiple viewings to fully appreciate and understand. Underneath the simple and often amusing word plays between characters are very deep, philosophical questions about life, love, and letting go and the writer does an excellent job of weaving this together between a very diverse and very enjoyable cast. The characters in this story are very three dimensional, intriguing and not a single... 5/5 Stellarblade "originpic" (New Orleans) - See all my reviews This review is from: Till You Get To Baraboo (DVD) Emmett Loverde's film is quite a delightful and refreshing comedy that really takes the viewer back to a long forgotten era of classic humor based more on wit, story development and a talented cast. Hilarious film, a good overall Blu

I finally got to see this film and the Blu gave a nice first viewing, and even doing the rated/unrated back to back it still kept me laughing. The Blu clarity and sound quality are solid and there were no failings even with the volume of night sequences. The desert shots were done adequately so there was no light saturation or blur - overall the presentation in both versions makes them a good investment for being one of the few comedies you might buy on Blu. The unrated runs eight minutes longer and contained nothing that would warrant the usual attraction for being titled as such. By the time they get to the roof to start the night there were four brief sequences added in, including some extra dialogue in the opening house scene, a little more with that abusive girlfriend and a fun spot in the hotel room. The main difference between the two would be a funny one minute scene as they take the tiger back to Tyson's house (elevator addition). Otherwise, there are no R rated... 5/5 Steve Kuehl "SLV Video" (Boulder Creek, CA) - See all my reviews, December 11, 2009

    I don't get offended easily.

Apparently, though, a lot of other people do, because I have seen some truly caustic reviews of this movie. So let me preface this (to ward off suggestions that I am a frat boy with a low IQ)with the following:I'm female and have a doctorate. This movie was freaking hilarious. I laughed start to finish on this one. It's Old School-scale hilarity. It's crude, it's obnoxious, and it's not headed for the Oscars, it's just headed to a place on my admittedly small shelf of DVDs, to join my collection of go-to movies to smooth over a rough day at work. It will get you out of your bad mood, that's for sure. The actors had great chemistry, the scenes were outlandish (although looking back on it, their adventures, while outrageous, were actually fairly tame. Want to see a Las Vegas bachelor party gone seriously awry? Watch "Very Bad Things". And yeah, I liked that one, too.), and I laughed just as hard at my second viewing as I did my first... 5/5 Jamie Cantwell (San Francisco) - See all my reviews, December 29, 2009
