Should you assume that Mildew odor has still not gone, then possibly that the issue lies deeper. It possibly that Mildew has been growing deep in the padding of your upholstery.

About this book
Monterey, California conjures images of a coastal city rimmed by crystal clear waters and bolstered by tourism; yet these edenic views belie the community's often turbulent history, originating with the Native Americans who lived here for a millennium and Hispanic exploration and colonization. At each stage in the growth of this city, residents have successfully overcome the division of multiple rule, diverse nationalities, and fledgling identities to fashion a homeland in the western landscape of America that is deservingly proud of its character and history.

Essential but not complete. Where's Janis?

I begrudgingly give this DVD boxed set five stars because this is a fantastic, albeit incomplete, document of the most important rock event in history. Everyone who considers themselves to be a rock fan should own this set. Having said that, the filmmaker's idea of "complete" is questionable in terms of the long-awaited outtakes disc, especially when you consider that he devoted five, count 'em five, outtake songs to Tiny Tim, and only one (??!!!) to Janis Joplin, who was considered "the star" of the festival as stated by Mama Cass in her commentary included in the package. (Not to mention Big Brother guitarist James Gurley, who received equal praise at Monterey as did Janis.)This sad state of affairs is beyond explanation. Why wasn't Big Brother and the Holding Company accorded their entire set instead of one token song, which is "Combination of the Two?" Revelatory performances.

The film restoration work looks and sounds magnificent. Eddie Kramer gets extra congratulations on the 5.1 audio mix. That said, the 3rd disc is mainly in stereo only.Karen's review below is a bit harsh. If you actually listen to the main film's commentary, you will understand why more footage isn't available: Not every second of 3 days of performances were captured. Concert films did not exist as a genre at this time (see the annoyingly choppy 'Festival!' documenting Newport), so this was new territory and the point of the film was to make a document that gave an overall feel for the event and time. Pennebaker and his crew had to decide which songs to film, which seems to have been predetermined by Dylan's buddy Bob Neuwirth who was more familiar with the scene than the filmmaker. They would turn on a red light on stage to signal to start filming the next song. PERFECT FOR EXPLORING MONTEREY BAY

I thought I knew the Monterey region fairly well until I was given this book as a present! It is packed with great "bites" of information: natural history, human history, and how to get to all the beaches and parks. The writing is easy to understand, friendly in a way, and even fun. The maps are very helpful, and the book even has resource sections with phone numbers, website urls, and directions. AND, the photographs are stunning. A great gift for visitors, home libraries, or the glove compartment of your car. 5/5 W. J. The definative guide of the Monterey

I received this book as a gift and was immediately taken by the depth and breadth of this book. If you are traveling from Ano Nuevo to Monterey get this book! The author and photograper bring this spectacular shoreline alive with great descriptive copy and super photos(you've got to see page 136). Hidden beaches and other great spots that I would never have known existed. Great information about how to get there, what to do and how it got there. A reader from Davenport, California

I have lived in Santa Cruz County for 15 years and thought I knew the Monterey Bay coastal zone very well--that is, until I read Jerry Emory's Monterey Bay Shoreline Guide. This Guide is the best--it covers both familiar territory and less well-known aspects of the Monterey Bay and its coastal towns. I've found myself consulting it whenever I make any kind of shoreline jaunt, from discovering where one can walk one's dog on a beach in Carmel to locating the best on-shore whalewatching sites. The photos are beautiful as well as informative. The organization of the book, which includes sidebar articles on specific topics, lends itself to easy access for both the casual and serious reader. 5/5 S. 2012 model -possible design flaw on upper seat belt guide

First, let me say that I have 2 Sunshine Kids Monterey boosters - one from 2009 & one from 2010. Had no problems w/ either of these - they are awesome products! Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the Dion 2012 model.I recently ordered the 2012 model and experienced nothing but problems w/ the quality. First one arrived w/ numerous quality issues from the factory, as did the second. That in itself was a huge surprise/disappointment, but I also question the modified design of upper seat belt guide. Has anyone else experienced this? The new upper seat belt guide design makes for a sleek, understated appearance (which I love), but I question whether it actually works. Since I ended up returning both seats due to quality issues, I only had the opportunity to briefly install the new model. What I noticed was that the upper guide is actually obstructed by the head cushioning. Additionally, it is very narrow and appears to sit back much farther/deeper on... 2/5 happygirl - See all my reviews This review is from: Diono Monterey Booster Seat, Red (Baby Product) First, let me say that I have 2 Sunshine Kids Monterey boosters - one from 2009 & one from 2010. Diono Monterey Best Booster!

It's been about a week and I have to say we really love the Diono Monterey Booster! We couldn't try out these booster seats for our twin 5 year old boys in stores so we had to rely on reviews, which all seemed to be great. This was our criteria - safety, comfort, ease of use, longevity and price. The boys had spent the last few years in Britax Marathon, we loved these seats for the safety, comfort and easy instal. I imagined going Britax again but .....wasn't ready to move away from the latch system. We did try out the Graco Turbo Booster- my son found it to be uncomfortable. Then he sat in the Britax Frontier, he said it was comfortable, but the price threw me, I simply could not afford it. The Britax Parkway was deemed comfortable by the kids but doesn't have Latch anchors and one of my boys isn't yet 40 pounds. The Diono Monterey fit the bill for us, it's very soft and padded, the back and side head protection is not obtrusive. Criticisms about belt tangling DO NOT apply to current model

I love this booster for several reasons: LATCH, the customizable width, the recline ability, its safety, its durablitiy, and [most importantly to the kid] its comfort. It's a very "carseat like" booster seat in function. I never have to worry about sleep slump with this seat because of its design. We also have a Britax Parkway SGL, and my child and I agree that the Diono Monterey is far superior for comfort and function.I have the old model which did have a poorly designed seat belt guide. It wasn't enough to make me dislike the seat, since I like to snap my almost-7 year old in myself and she is not allowed to bend forward in the carseat, so no risk of the belt coming out of its guide. All the benefits of this seat greatly outweighed this meh guide design. All the same, I contacted the company and they sent me the redesigned headrest with improved belt guide for free. My child has been enjoying buckling herself in since we swapped it out. So anyone who has/had the... 5/5 Jennifer (Pasadena, CA United States) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Best Monterey Guidebook

As a veteran traveler, I always want guidebooks to tell me about places I might not find on my own; to give me the "insider's" view of places I visit. This book delivers in a way that is especially enjoyable. It abounds with inside information, accurate details, and fun facts of the Monterey Bay area. We used the book extensively on a recent vacation in Monterey, and as a result, enjoyed ourselves far more than in previous visits. Because the book covers so many different types of activities, I recommend you read it when you are planning your trip, and use it to find activities you will like, then make reservations (where appropriate) in advance. There is so much to see and do in Monterey, and this book will help you make the most of your time there. Be sure to look for harbor seals, which we have never seen anywhere else close up as we have in Monterey Bay. Enjoy! 5/5 F. M. Pepoon (Roseville, CA USA) - See all my reviews, December 14, 2010

Safe and effective garden pest control

This product was very effective in stopping all damaging pests while keeping helpful pests alive. The bees working my plants continued to work them without interruption. Spray the product at sundown and it will wipe out all the bad plant eaters. I applied two treatments. Had I known about this product earlier in the year I could have saved the majority of the squash plants I had to destroy because of multiple worm issues. This is also the safest insecticide you can buy. I base that statement on many years as a professional pest control technician. 5/5 M. Taylor (Florida) - See all my reviews, December 1, 2010

    Spinosad Organic Spray

The spinosad organic spray had no effect on Mexican bean beetles when used as directed, even though they are one of the listed control insects. However, it was very effective against the Colorado potato beetle. After one spraying, the potato beetle larva were dead and have not returned. Consider Purchasing the 3-DVD or 4-CD Box Instead

First of all, if your interest in this June 1967 concert is only casual, or if you're on a budget, or if you're trying to conserve space in your home, then this 2-CD set will suffice. If so, then consider my rating 4-star. It contains some really great performances, has a total of 26 tracks and clocks in at around 95 minutes. It also boasts 3 previously unreleased on CD tracks (2 by Simon & Garfunkel, 1 by Buffalo Springfield). So, this is a fine compact collection For What It's Worth [sorry, I couldn't resist].However, for those of you who really dig The Summer of Love sound, then I recommend getting the 3-DVD set which runs 238 minutes. This DVD set contains Pennebaker's original concert film, a second disk featuring the complete Hendrix and Otis Redding performances... 3/5 Kenneth Sall (Columbia, MD United States) - See all my reviews, July 3, 2007

    Worth the price

For those of us who remember the Summer of Love and still enjoy the music of that era, this is lots of fun.You get to hear Eric Burdon sing about Monterey. You also hear a very polished set of Simon and Garfunkel. Simon and Garfunkel play their two best songs of the time, Homeward Bound and the classic Sounds of Silence.Janis Joplin is also in top forn with Big Brother singing the blues. The Byrds with David Crosby finish the first CDOn the second CD you hear Grace Slick and the Airplane do their two classic songs, Somebody to Love and White Rabbit. You get to hear two songs of Otis Redding and his classic performance at Monterey. The real find to me is Buffalo Springfield with Stills and Young doing, For What its Worth. This is the only recording where you can actually hear them live. The one thing of note here is the absence of Neil Young as David Crosby (at the time with the Byrds) stands in. C,S&N was already in the making. CS&M would play just 2 years... 4/5 Michael Wheeler "Stratocaster" (Las Vegas, Nevada United States) - See all my reviews, July 9, 2007

A nice, brief slice from the four CD box set

There is -- or was, I'm not sure -- a four CD box set drawn from the Monterey International Pop Festival. It included all of Jimi Hendrix's set, as well as The Who. It was a five-star collection, even if many of the performers were not on the box set (the Grateful Dead, for instance, refused to allow their music to be released on albums or the movie that chronicles the festival, because they felt their performance was sub-par). Stil, the box set was great. This two-CD (or a download with "two CDs" worth of material -- is disappointing because there was so much on the box set, and more, I'm sure, in the vaults. Instead a filling up two CDs, both of these are a mere 45 or so minutes long, meaning 30-odd extra minutes of music was left off.Overall the music selections are good. But when there is a treasure trove of music and the best that is issued are two 45-minute CDs, then I just can't justify the collection. I got this as a $5 download and for the five bucks... 3/5 John A. W. Polsgrove "Southwestdeadhead" (Baja Arizona) - See all my reviews, August 26, 2012

One of the best Orca whale replicas

I love Montery Bay Aquarium replicas. They are well made of excellent quality, and very realistic. Great features and detailing..very close to the real animal. I also have the humpback whale, and Baluga by Montery Bay and am a fan. All are wonderful replicas. I use them for educational purposes. This Orca whale is very real. I have another one that is slightly larger in size made by Papo, which is also a good company. That Orca is a bit larger about 2 inches and has a taller, more triangular dorsal fin..making it more like a male. This one by Montery Bay appears more of a female because the dorsal fin is much shorter and more curved. Females are smaller than males too, so I put them next to each other on my shelf, as though they are a couple which is cute. I should have a calf from somewhere too. Then it will look like Willy and his family from Free Willy! 5/5 Rehana Farooqi "Sister of the Sea" (Darien, Il. USA) - See all my reviews, March 7, 2013
