  Great (unlike Valentine's Day)

  I was skeptical about seeing this film because of the numerous negative reviews it received. However, I have to say that this film was excellent. I personally do not like the comparisons to Valentine's Day because I thought that was a horrible movie. New Year's Eve was poignant and introspective. Although, some parts may be cheesy, and yes, it takes awhile for all the storylines to develop, I laughed out loud throughout the whole movie. So I recommend that you give a shot, if you were on the fence like me.   Just as good as Valentine's Day

  I Loved Valentine's Day and so when I heard about this one I was very excited to go see it and it has some of my favorite actresses and actors in it. Of course people will call this film predictable and cheesy just like all the romantic built movies, but honestly there is not one romantic type of movie that is not predictable. Of course you know what's going to happen at the end since it's called a romantic movie. I personally loved this movie, it had a lot of laughs and a couple parts where I got teary eyed. The movie has well put together characters and a very good plot. The ending just like Valentine's Day where it brought characters throughout the movie together some predictable and some were the complete opposite of predictable. I Love this movie and recommend it to anyone who likes romantic comedies or likes Valentine's Day. Who cares what the critics say they are wrong most of the time.   A giant Hallmark Card; Michelle Pfeiffer & Zac Efron are film's saving grace

  Although the critics slammed "New Year's Eve" as one of the worst movies of the year, the audiences felt differently rather enjoying it. I kind of liked it. Nice fluff. It's an ensemble cast set up just like in "Valentine's Day" except this one is on "New Year's Eve". Some of the pairings include, Sarah Jessica Parker & Abigail Breslin who play Mother and Daughter offering one of the more bouncier & interesting pairings in the film. Josh Duhamel searches diligently for his soul mate he met & lost one year ago. Jessica Biel & Seth Meyers play husband and wife in one of the more unnecessary subplots in the film. Robert DeNiro & Halle Berry manage to bring deep emotion into the lackluster words printed on the script thus making it believable. Katherine Heigl & Sofia Vergara give us light comic relief in their bits.Despite the critics attacks on the film they do manage to praise one tiny element within each of their scathing reviews.   Have been collecting the Night Before books by Natasha Wing, so far we have Halloween, Thanksgiving, and now New Years.   Who digs a garden on January 1?

  EDIT (12/9/2012): Intuit's R4 update of QB Pro 2013 has some improvements over the original 2013 release (see below). At least one is quite important since it allows one to readily tell which company file is open. Even so, I left this as four stars, but call it four and a half! There are other improvements listed but I haven't looked at them yet.I wish I could give two star ratings: One for new users and one for up-daters. The four-star rating I gave is for new users.New users should go ahead and read all the reviews for earlier versions. QuickBooks is popular for a reason. It does the job and does it well. It is not perfect and has room for improvement but there are not a lot of other choices in this price range.For up-daters, I give it three stars. There is no compelling reason to go from the 2012 version to the 2013 version.   Stick with 2012!

  A few days ago I "upgraded" to 2013 and promptly went back to 2012. The new screen layout is a disaster. There are two main problems:1.) You can no longer change color schemes for your different companies to make it easier to tell which company you are working in. Actually, they have removed any and all ability for you to change the screen appearance in any way. Instead of adding functionality here, they just removed it all! They have decided that they know what fits you best and you can like it or lump it!2.) They have enlarged the screen fonts until there is at least 30% LESS information visible on the screen. Sure, large fonts can be seen from a distance, but you also can't see very many characters in the same space. So, what happens, is that to navigate your information you have to do MUCH more scrolling than you used to do. Scrolling takes time and is frustrating. Also, horizontally you can't see as many characters in a column.   You need to know this before buying! (updated)

  Just something to consider before purchasing: Although I must say there are a few nice upgrades to this version over QB 2012, I don't think the average user will think they outweigh the major step backwards in the visuals of the new product. (The following complaint has now been remedied. See update below.) The color scheme has changed drastically. The desktop is a dull gray and the icon bar is black with thin white text for the titles -- very difficult to read and differentiate between the icons. The dullness gives me a head-ache, and I'm not the only one who feels this way. Definitely look at it on someone else's computer before making the investment. I'm hoping Intuit provides a fix to this problem so I can use this version, but for now I'm sticking with 2012! (I will definitely change my review if it gets fixed.)UPDATE: I must give credit to Intuit for finally listening to their customers regarding the color scheme changes.   There's one crucial element that's somehow gone missing from most modern RPGs: the actual ability to role-play. You can play as Commander Shepard, but you can't do anything a Spectre wouldn't do.   This game is home

  This game seems to divert from what made Fallout 3 so revolotionary as far as level design... instead of a predominantly urban environment, you'll find yourself basically in a desert. This in of itself isn't bad, cause with the 'Hardcore' setting and how it encuorages you to play, it really comes together in a completely different experience then it's predecessor, with equal to greater merit! I have gotten the first 3 DLC at launch (I'll be getting the last one soon enough), and what justifies their cost is a priceless surrealist experience that can't simply be described... I played the first DLC under the influence and I would say didn't so much as 'played' the game as opposed to having 'lived' it.   A glitchy Masterpiece

  Every single time I played this game, I experienced some sort of game halting glitch, whether it be the game freezing, an endless loading screen, or falling through the ground. And after every glitch, I would haul myself off the couch, restart my console, and enjoy another 3-4 hours of gaming nirvana. That's right, I don't care in the least that this game glitches more than any game I have ever owned. It doesn't matter that the graphics may actually look worse than Fallout 3's. It is irrelevant to me that on two separate occasions my auto save file was corrupted, forcing me to replay as much as 5 hours of gameplay. Fallout New Vegas is that much fun.For all of this games many technical faults, it is still one of my favorite gaming experiences, ever. The story is excellent and engaging. I found myself playing hours more than I had originally intended just so I could learn more about one of my many interesting companions.
